I have read the information on your website and read Bob Byrne's article about the Adelaide pie-carts.
I came to live in Adelaide in January 1960 and there was a pie-cart on the corner of Rundle Street and King William Street then. I used to grab a floater on my way home from the Adelaide College of Music every Friday evening. It was there at least until 1962, if I remember correctly. It was a most unusual sight to see men and women in their evening wear, long frocks and black ties, hopping into floaters "after the ball"!!!
I very nearly bought the pie cart on Norwood Parade, outside the Shell Service Station alongside the Town Hall in the late-1960's, but could not raise the necessary funds………about $8,000 from memory.

(Please Note: The Rundle Street part he is referring to is now called Rundle Mall - I believe it change in 1976. The Shell Service Station is now a Cinema Complex)
